Pope Leo XIV’s visit to Spain confirmed for 6-12 June

The Vatican has officially confirmed that Pope Leo XIV will visit Spain from 6 to 12 June 2026. The apostolic journey will include stops in Madrid, Barcelona, Gran Canaria and Tenerife. It is the first visit by a Pope to Spain since Benedict XVI in 2011 and the first papal visit to the Canary Islands. The visit is presented under the motto "Lift up your eyes" (John 4:35).
